Six things we need straight away: five roles based at Marrickville in Sydney and a civil engineer based at Slacks Creek in Brisbane. Civil engineers, one or two of them. We want engineers who can run our piling, anchoring, shoring and excavation packages and our principal contractor jobs from the first site walk to the final claim: price the work, write the methodology, run the crews and the subcontractors, hold the client to the programme and close it out. On a CV that might read civil engineer, site engineer, project engineer, piling engineer, ground engineering engineer, geotechnical engineer, foundation engineer, civil construction engineer or civil contracting engineer. The title matters less than the site time. If you have stood beside a piling rig checking founding levels, signed off ground anchors and shotcrete against the designer's drawings, or run a bulk excavation to a remediation action plan, read the Civil Engineer, piling and excavation job and apply. Pay depends on experience, vehicle allowance and phone. Engineers who want to move up to running whole demolition and civil packages should look at the Project Manager and Engineer job as well.

A civil engineer in Brisbane. Our Queensland office at Slacks Creek is growing and the civil side of the work is growing fastest. We need an engineer based in Brisbane to deliver demolition and civil projects across South East Queensland: piling, micro piling, underpinning, shoring and excavation, priced and run from the first site walk to the final claim. Site engineer, project engineer, piling engineer, foundation engineer, geotechnical site engineer, whatever your last title was, if you have put piles in the ground and underpinned a building in Brisbane, read the Brisbane civil engineer job and apply. An HR manager or HR and recruitment coordinator with construction experience. Someone who has hired supervisors, project engineers, leading hands and operators before and knows what a good one looks like. Call it HR manager, HR business partner, people and culture manager, HR generalist, recruitment coordinator, talent acquisition specialist, internal recruiter or construction recruiter, we do not mind. What we care about is that you have recruited for construction, civil, demolition, mining or labour hire, and you can run the whole process from ad to first day on site. Two levels on offer: the HR Manager job at Pay depends on experience, and the HR and Recruitment Coordinator job at Pay depends on experience. Both report to the Managing Director.

A tender submission and bid coordinator. Not an engineer, a submissions person. Someone who understands construction tendering, knows what a client wants to see when they open the document, and gets our tenders in before time and looking sharp. You will own the tender calendar, the estimating inboxes and the Monday triage, keep Pipedrive clean, and put the submissions together with the Managing Director, the estimators and the project managers, for the whole group and, for the right person, national jobs too. Bid coordinator, tender coordinator, submissions coordinator, bid writer, proposal coordinator, tender administrator, whatever it said on your last contract, read the Tender Submission and Bid Coordinator job and apply.

Two estimators, demolition and civil. One to price structural demolition, strip out, asbestos and decommissioning; one to price bulk excavation, piling, shoring, anchoring and contaminated soil. Both work with the Managing Director, the tender coordinator and the project managers in Marrickville, own the estimate from take off to scope letter, and hand it to the team that builds it. What we are looking for

We take on people at every level, from someone with a fresh White Card through to a construction manager who has run fifty million dollars of work. These are the areas we recruit into.

• General labouring and site work. Demolition labourers, cleaners, spotters and offsiders on commercial and civil sites.
• Ticketed operators and trades. Excavator, posi-track, forklift, telehandler, EWP and crane operators, riggers and dogmen, boilermakers, welders, formwork carpenters, steel fixers and electricians.
• Concrete work. Road sawing, wall sawing, wire sawing, core drilling, grinding and polishing, patching, concrete repairs and GPR scanning.
• Remediation, steel and coatings. Concrete remediation, structural steel repairs, abrasive blasting, industrial coatings, waterproofing, carbon fibre strengthening and heritage restoration.
• Demolition, strip out and hazmat. Soft strip, structural and high reach demolition, asbestos removal both bonded and friable, plant decommissioning and site remediation.
• Supervision, engineering and management. Leading hands, site supervisors, foremen, project engineers, project managers, construction managers, contracts administrators and WHS advisors.
• Office, estimating and admin. Estimators, contracts administrators, accounts, payroll, scheduling and compliance.

Tickets and site inductions matter

Most of our work is on Tier 1 sites, and those sites will not let anyone through the gate without the right paperwork. If you already hold a White Card, Working at Heights, Confined Space, an asbestos removal ticket or a machine licence, say so on the form. If you are already inducted for Sydney Metro, Sydney Trains, Sydney Water or the Western Harbour Tunnel, that puts you near the front of the queue, because we can have you working in days rather than weeks.

If you do not have tickets yet, still apply. We put people through training when the work justifies it, and there is general labouring you can start on while you get carded up.

Work rights

You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas. If you are here on a visa that lets you work, that is fine, just tell us the subclass and any hour limits on the form so we put you on the right job. We do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us.

References

Give us at least one reference on the form. It can be a work reference or a character reference, so a previous supervisor, a leading hand, or someone who has known you a while and will vouch for you. Three is ideal and gives us the fullest picture, but one is enough to get the conversation started.

What happens after you apply

Where we work

Our head office is in Marrickville in Sydney and we run a Queensland base at Slacks Creek. We have crews on projects across greater Sydney, the Hunter, Wollongong, Canberra, South East Queensland and up through Mackay, Townsville and Cairns. We are building our Western Australia crew now, including mining demolition and shutdown work, so if you are in Perth or fly out from Perth, apply and pick Western Australia on the form.

Some jobs need people who will travel or work away from home. If that suits you, say so on the form, because those roles are usually the better paid ones and there are fewer people putting their hand up.
