Demolition and Asbestos Worker Jobs, Bathurst

We are hiring in Bathurst. Perfect Contracting is running a demolition and asbestos project in Bathurst and the Central West and we want local people on it: demolition workers, Class A and Class B asbestos removalists, general labourers and anyone with a construction background who wants steady work close to home for the next few months.

You do not need demolition experience for the general roles. A White Card, a good attitude and a way to get to site are enough to start, and we train on the job. Experienced removalists and demolition hands go straight onto the tools. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.

What the work is

• Strip out, hand demolition and materials sorting ahead of the machines.
• Bonded and friable asbestos removal for people who hold the tickets, under our own Class A licence and supervisors.
• Exclusion zones, hoardings, dust suppression and site housekeeping.
• Spotting for excavators and loading out with skid steers where you hold the ticket.
• Working locally in Bathurst and the Central West, with the option of travelling to our other jobs later if you want more hours.

Tickets and experience we look for

Tell us what you actually hold. Missing one or two is not a problem.

• White Card is the only must have for the general roles.
• Asbestos removal units (CPCCDE3014 bonded, CPCCDE3015 friable) for the removalist roles, or willing to be trained.
• Working at Heights, EWP, skid steer, forklift or a truck licence all add to your value.
• Fit for physical outdoor work and reliable to a 6.30 start.
• Living in Bathurst or nearby: Orange, Lithgow, Blayney and Oberon. Locals first.

What it pays

Pay depends on experience and tickets. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it. People tend to stay with us once they start: the crew is energetic, dedicated and good to work alongside, and we back them.
