- HR and recruitment coordinator
- Sydney, Marrickville office
- Full time
- AU work rights required
We are hiring an HR and Recruitment Coordinator in Sydney. You will run the day to day of hiring for Perfect Contracting and the wider Perfect Group: the ads, the phone screens, the interview bookings, the licence checks and the paperwork that gets a new supervisor, engineer or labourer onto site. Perfect Contracting is the flagship of Perfect Group: Perfect Contracting, Perfect Concrete Care, Perfect Remediation and Refurbishment, Perfect Strip Out and Demolition, and Perfect Industries in Queensland. About 150 people, head office in Marrickville, and a Great Place to Work certification we intend to keep.
This suits someone with a year or two in recruitment, HR admin or a busy construction office who wants to own a function rather than a task. You work with the HR Manager and the operations managers, and the Managing Director is down the corridor, not six layers away. Marrickville office, Sydney based.
Fill in the form below and someone will ring you back within one business day. Attach a CV if you have one handy, or reply to the confirmation email with it.

What the job is
- Keep the Work With Us pages, job boards and Google Jobs listings live and accurate, and be the first voice a candidate hears: every application gets a call within one business day.
- Screen candidates against what the operations managers actually need, book interviews, chase references, and keep the candidate list clean and current so we never lose a good person because nobody called back.
- Run pre-start compliance: right to work checks, White Card and trade tickets, asbestos and demolition licences, VOCs, medicals, inductions, Assignar set up, uniforms and PPE.
- HR administration: contracts and letters, personnel files, probation and review reminders, training records, and answering the everyday questions from the crews.
- Reporting: how many roles are open, how long they take to fill, where the good people come from, so we spend money where it works.
What we look for
Tell us what you have actually done. If you are strong on most of this and keen on the rest, still apply.
- One to three years in recruitment, HR administration or a construction site or office admin role where you dealt with people all day.
- Organised to the point of being a bit annoying about it. Lists, follow ups, nothing dropped.
- Good on the phone with tradespeople and engineers alike, and happy to say no politely.
- Confident with Microsoft 365, spreadsheets and learning a new system fast. Assignar, SEEK or an ATS is a plus.
- A qualification in HR or business helps. The right attitude helps more, and we will pay for the study if you want it.
What it pays
Pay depends on experience. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Office hours, Marrickville, with flexibility that runs both ways. People tend to stay with us once they start: the crew is energetic, dedicated and good to work alongside, and we back them.
Other names for this job
Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called HR coordinator, recruitment coordinator, talent acquisition coordinator, HR administrator, HR officer, recruitment officer, internal recruiter, people and culture coordinator, construction recruiter or HR assistant, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you have run and delivered, not on the title.
What we are like to work for
We are a young business and we are growing. That is the honest pitch. It means the structure is not set in concrete, there is room to move up if you are any good, and the person who decides is not six layers away from site. We buy decent gear, we back people who bring a better way of doing something, and safety is not a poster in the lunch room. On Tier 1 jobs it is the thing that keeps you working.
Work rights
You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas and we do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
What happens after you apply
- You get an email straight away confirming we have your application.
- Someone rings you within one business day, on the mobile number you give us.
- If you did not attach a CV, reply to that confirmation email with it. It is the fastest way to get in front of us.
- We keep your details on file. Even if there is nothing today, we come back to people when the right job lands.
Where the job is
Head office, 4/8 Lilian Fowler Place, Marrickville, ten minutes from Sydney Airport and on the Bankstown line. Our sites are across greater Sydney, the Hunter, Wollongong, Canberra and regional New South Wales, with the Queensland office at Slacks Creek. This role is Sydney based.
