General Worker Jobs, Albury Wodonga

  • General workers, no experience needed
  • Wodonga, Victoria, near Albury
  • Starts October 2026, at least 6 months
  • AU work rights required
Apply now, takes 2 minutes

We are hiring general workers in Albury Wodonga. Perfect Contracting is starting a warehouse strip out, lead paint and asbestos removal job in Wodonga in October 2026, it runs for at least six months, and we want local people on it. You do not need demolition experience or a trade. You need to turn up, work hard and want to learn.

We put you through the tickets you need, starting with the White Card if you do not have one, and we train you on site alongside our own crew. Good people who want to keep going with us after this job can. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.

The job is real and it starts in October. We have been engaged by Icon Construction to strip out a group of large warehouses in Wodonga, on the Victorian side of the border: lead dust removal, lead paint removal, asbestos removal, cladding replacement and demolition. It is our first job under our Victorian demolition registration and we will be in the region for a minimum of six months, with two of our senior people moving to Wodonga for it. Have a look at the Wodonga warehouse project page for what the work involves.

Ticketed people are welcome too. If you are an asbestos removalist, an asbestos supervisor, or you have done lead paint or lead dust removal, apply on this form and say so in the tickets section. The asbestos removalist and asbestos supervisor pages describe those roles in full.

Fill in the form below and someone will ring you back within one business day. It takes about two minutes. The more you tell us about your tickets, the faster we can put you on a job.

    The basics

One minute. Seven quick answers, then a second page about your experience.

We are hiring in NSW, QLD and WA, including FIFO mining work out of Perth. Pick "Anywhere in Australia" if you will travel.
You must already have the right to work in Australia. We are not able to sponsor visas.
Pick the closest one. The next questions change to match.
PDF or Word, up to 5MB. If you do not have one on your phone, submit anyway and reply to our email with it.

    Your experience

The more you tick, the better we can match you to a job.

Optional. Roughly how many years on each of these? Leave blank if it does not apply.

Piling rigs, anchors, shotcrete, soldier piles and shoring. Running it or doing it both count.

    References and availability

Optional now, we will ask when we call you. A work reference or a character reference, name, company and phone.
Fly-in fly-out, drive-in drive-out, or away for a stint. The away jobs usually pay better.
Pick the one that suits you best right now. Regional NSW, regional Queensland and remote sites are all on the list.

A few lines is fine. Real employers and real jobs, because this is what we search when a role comes up.

    What the work is

    • General site labouring: moving materials, keeping the site clean and safe, setting up hoardings and fencing.
    • Helping the demolition and asbestos crews with the work that does not need a ticket, and learning the work that does.
    • Spotting for machines and trucks, and traffic control if you hold or get the ticket.
    • Lead dust removal with HEPA vacuums and washdown, and helping the crews scrape and encapsulate lead paint, in full PPE with blood lead testing before you start.
    • Dust suppression, waste sorting for recycling and loading out.
    • Working locally in Albury Wodonga, with the option of travelling to our other jobs later if you want more hours.

The job you would be on

A group of large warehouses in Wodonga being stripped and made safe ahead of refurbishment for Icon Construction: lead dust out first, then the internal strip out, then the contaminated roof and wall cladding off and new cladding on, with asbestos removal and demolition through the programme. The crew is based in Wodonga for the duration. The project page is a running record of the job and gets updated as the work moves along.

Tickets and experience we look for

Tell us what you actually hold. Missing one or two is not a problem.

    • No tickets needed to apply. We organise and pay for the White Card and the tickets the job needs.
    • If you already hold Working at Heights, EWP, skid steer, forklift, traffic control or an asbestos ticket, tell us, it moves you up the list and up the pay range.
    • Fit for physical outdoor work and reliable to an early start.
    • A driver licence and a way to get to site.
    • Living in Albury Wodonga or nearby: Wodonga, Lavington, Wangaratta and Wagga Wagga. Locals first.

    What it pays

Pay depends on experience and tickets. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it. People tend to stay with us once they start: the crew is energetic, dedicated and good to work alongside, and we back them.

    Other names for this job

Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called general worker Albury, labourer Albury Wodonga, construction labourer Wodonga, demolition labourer Albury, site labourer Albury, general hand Wodonga or entry level construction job Albury, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you can do on the tools, not on the title.

What we are like to work for

We are a young business and we are growing. That is the honest pitch. It means the structure is not set in concrete, there is room to move up if you are any good, and the person who decides is not six layers away from site. We buy decent gear, we back people who bring a better way of doing something, and safety is not a poster in the lunch room. On Tier 1 jobs it is the thing that keeps you working.

    Work rights

You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas and we do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us.

    What happens after you apply

    • You get an email straight away confirming we have your application.
    • Someone rings you within one business day, on the mobile number you give us.
    • If you did not attach a CV, reply to that confirmation email with it. It is the fastest way to get in front of us.
    • We keep your details on file. Even if there is nothing today, we come back to people when the right job lands.
