Demolition Site Manager Jobs

We need demolition site managers. People who can take a site off the project manager, run it properly, and hand it back on programme.

It is a wider job than supervising the crew. You are across the programme, the subcontractors, the plant on hire, the waste going out the gate and the money leaking out of the job, as well as the safety of everyone inside the fence.

What the role actually is

• Running the whole site, not just the demolition crew. Subcontractors, plant, deliveries, waste and traffic.
• Owning the programme on your site and telling us early when it is slipping, not the week after.
• Site inductions, SWMS review, permits, and the head contractor's daily and weekly reporting.
• Working with the supervisor and the engineer on sequence, propping and temporary works.
• Keeping the client and the head contractor happy enough that they ask for you on the next job.

Tickets and experience we look for

Tell us what you hold on the form. Missing one of these is not a knock-out.

• Experience running commercial, civil or industrial demolition sites end to end.
• White Card, and ideally Working at Heights, Confined Space and a supervisor or frontline management qualification.
• A demolition supervisor ticket is a strong plus even if you are managing rather than supervising.
• Asbestos awareness at minimum. Class A or B supervision if you have it.
• Live Tier 1 inductions, particularly Sydney Metro, Sydney Trains, Sydney Water and the Western Harbour Tunnel.
• You can read a programme, price a variation roughly in your head, and write an email that does not need fixing.

What it pays

Pay depends on experience. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. A vehicle is part of the package for this role. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it. People tend to stay with us once they start: the crew is energetic, dedicated and good to work alongside, and we back them.

Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called site manager, demolition site manager, construction site manager, senior site supervisor, site superintendent, project superintendent, civil site manager, senior foreman or construction manager, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you have run and delivered, not on the title.

Head office is Marrickville in Sydney and the Queensland base is at Slacks Creek. We have crews on projects across greater Sydney, the Hunter, Wollongong, Canberra, South East Queensland and up through Mackay, Townsville and Cairns. We are building the Western Australia crew now, including mining demolition and shutdown work, so if you are in Perth or fly out of Perth, say so on the form.
