High Reach Demolition Operator Jobs

We are hiring high reach and remote demolition operators. Our Volvo EC480 high reach with shear, and Brokk remote demolition machines, on multi storey, industrial and confined space demolition in Sydney, Brisbane and wherever the fleet travels.

This is the top of the operating tree. High reach operators are hard to find, so if you have run one you can name your machine hours and we will listen. Brokk operators come from demolition, tunnelling and refractory backgrounds and we cross train.

What the work is

• Top down structural demolition with the high reach and shear, working to the engineer's sequence and the exclusion zones.
• Brokk remote demolition inside buildings, plant rooms, tunnels, kilns and vessels where nothing else fits.
• Attachment changes, daily inspections and looking after a machine worth more than most houses.
• Working with the supervisor, spotters and the dust suppression crew on every lift and every cut.
• Travelling to regional and interstate jobs when the machine goes on the float.

Tickets and experience we look for

Tell us what you actually hold. Missing one or two is not a problem.

• Excavator ticket and documented hours on high reach or long reach machines, or Brokk experience with the manufacturer or an employer.
• Structural demolition experience and the ability to read a demolition sequence.
• White Card. Working at Heights and Confined Space for the Brokk work.
• A clean record on the machines you have run. We check references on this role.
• A driver licence and willingness to travel.

What it pays

Pay depends on experience and tickets. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it. People tend to stay with us once they start: the crew is energetic, dedicated and good to work alongside, and we back them.

Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called high reach operator, high reach excavator operator, Brokk operator, demolition robot operator, remote demolition machine operator, excavator operator demolition, long reach excavator operator or plant operator demolition, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you can do on the tools, not on the title.

Head office is Marrickville in Sydney and the Queensland base is at Slacks Creek. We have crews on projects across greater Sydney, the Hunter, Wollongong, Canberra, regional New South Wales and South East Queensland, and we are building the Western Australia crew now.
