Diversity and Inclusion
Perfect Contracting works for Tier 1 builders, government agencies and infrastructure clients. Most of them carry workforce participation and social procurement obligations, and those obligations flow down to us in the subcontract.
So for us this is not a values statement. It is a deliverable with reporting attached, and we treat it that way.

Working to our clients' participation requirements
Major projects commonly set targets for local employment, apprentices and trainees, Indigenous participation, and engagement of social enterprises in the supply chain. Some clients also require reporting on gender participation in the workforce.

We are used to working inside those frameworks, reporting against them month by month, and to the audits that follow. If you have participation requirements, send them with the tender documents. We would rather tell you honestly what we can commit to than agree to a number and miss it.
The people on our sites
Demolition and civil crews are among the most culturally mixed workforces on any construction site, and ours are no exception. A lot of our people were not born in Australia.

On a high risk site that gets managed properly rather than assumed away. Inductions and toolbox talks delivered so everyone genuinely follows them, people paired up while they are new, and supervisors who check understanding rather than nod at it. A language barrier on a demolition site is a safety issue before it is anything else.

Building people up through the tickets
This trade lets someone start with no qualification and end up running a site, and we use that. People come on as labourers and move through their construction induction, plant tickets, asbestos removal training, high risk work licences and supervisor qualifications. We pay for the training and we promote from within where we can, because someone we trained understands how we want the work done.

Conduct on site
Bullying, racism and initiation rituals are not culture and they are not toughness. On our sites they are dealt with formally and they are grounds for removal.
The same standard applies to how our crews deal with other trades, the client's staff and the public around the job. On a principal contractor project our people are the face of the whole thing, and everyone from the neighbours to the client's board judges it on what they see.

Perfect Contracting acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as Traditional Custodians of the country on which we live and work. We pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians and Elders past, present and future, and honour their connection to the land and ongoing contribution to society.
