Demolition Methodology & Consulting

Talk to us about your methodology

    Demolition Methodology and Consulting

Costed, engineered demolition methodologies for tenders, DAs and complex structures, written by people who then go and do the work rather than hand you a theory.

    • Tender and DA stage methodologies
    • Feasibility and buildability reviews
    • Staging, propping and temporary works logic
    • Costed, so the method matches a real budget
    • National, any structure type

A methodology from a contractor beats one from a desk

Plenty of consultants can produce a demolition report. The difference with ours is that we demolish buildings for a living, so the sequence we put on paper is one we would price and build to ourselves. That shows up in tenders: reviewers can tell the difference between theory and method.

Builders use us at bid stage to test whether a demolition scope is priced right. Developers use us at DA stage so the consent conditions are ones a contractor can actually live with. Engineers bring us in when the structure is unusual and the textbook answer does not fit.

    What the methodology covers

    • Demolition sequence and staging with the structural logic behind it
    • Temporary works, propping and retention requirements
    • Plant selection and access strategy
    • Hazardous material strategy and notifications
    • Dust, noise, vibration and neighbour protections
    • Program and costed budget, not just a narrative

    When to bring us in

Earliest is cheapest. At feasibility, we can tell you whether the tower comes down floor by floor or with a high reach from the street, which changes cost by multiples. At tender, we sharpen the price. After award, we convert the winning method into the work pack the site runs on.

We also do second opinions. If a methodology you have been given feels heavy or the temporary works look excessive, an independent review is cheap insurance.

    Complex and unusual structures

Tunnels and TBM removal, silos, gasworks, heritage retention with everything behind demolished, plants that must keep operating around the works, and structures nobody has drawings for. The odd jobs are the ones we enjoy.

One useful test: Ask whoever writes your methodology whether they would take the job at the price their method implies. Our answer is yes, because we regularly do.

    Where we work

Sydney head office, Brisbane yard, and crews that travel Australia wide for the work below. Wire sawing, Brokk shutdowns, friable asbestos and methodology consulting all run nationally on staged programs.

    Questions we get asked

Do we have to use you for the demolition afterwards?

No. The methodology stands alone and plenty of clients tender it to the market. We would like a look at the job, but the document is yours.

Can you review a methodology from someone else?

Yes, independent reviews are common work. We tell you what is sound, what is risky and what is gold plated.

    What does it cost?

Depends on the structure and the depth required, from a short buildability letter to a full tender methodology with program and budget. Tell us the job and we will quote it fixed.

Do you work with our structural engineer?

Yes, and it works best that way. We bring the demolition logic, they bring the structure, and the temporary works land in the middle.

Need a methodology that stands up?

Send the drawings and the deadline. We will scope the document and give you a fixed price for it.
