Perfect Contracting is a specialist demolition company founded in Sydney in 2010. We deliver demolition, decommissioning, civil early works and remediation for tier one builders, government and industry across Australia, as part of Perfect Group. This page is the story of how it got here and the people who built it.
How it started
Mateusz Jedruszek got to Australia from Poland in 2003, at 19, to study English. He found work on the tools instead. Labouring first, then running small crews on civil and rail jobs around Sydney, and studying structural engineering alongside the work.
In 2008 the GFC hit and the company he worked for went under. He took a long trip back through Europe, thought about what he actually wanted to do, and came back with one idea: build a contracting business that does the hard jobs properly and looks after the people doing them.
Perfect Contracting started in September 2010 with one tipper truck, two employees and a lot of hand digging. Trenches, footings, strip outs, whatever was going. The first jobs were small and the standard was the same as it is now: turn up, do what you said you would, leave the site safe.

The people who built it
Most of the people who run Perfect today started with us years ago, a lot of them on the tools. Przemek Franczuk came on in the early years and now runs operations as Chief of Operations. Jarek Zerdzinski joined early too and is now CFO. Supervisors became site managers and site managers became project managers.
That is the part of the story we are proudest of. The machines got bigger, the jobs got harder and the clients got more demanding, but the way we treat people on site has not changed: you get trained, you get paid properly, and if you are good you get promoted.
Milestones
- 2010. Perfect Contracting starts in Sydney with a tipper truck and a two person crew.
- 2015. Perfect Concrete Care launched for cutting, coring and scanning.
- 2017. Perfect Remediation launched for concrete repair and contaminated land.
- 2026. Queensland operations set up at Slacks Creek. First projects delivered in Western Australia and Victoria.
- 2027. Group head office and yard move to Granville in Sydney's west.
Work that shaped us
- Sydney Metro. Demolition and early works packages on Australia's biggest public transport programme, including The Bays on Sydney Metro West and station demolition on Sydney Metro Southwest.
- Corrimal Coke Works. Principal contractor for decommissioning, demolition and land rehabilitation of a heritage heavy industrial site.
- Horsley Park. Large scale friable asbestos decontamination and demolition on a working brickworks site.
- Bathurst Hospital. Demolition on a live hospital redevelopment in regional NSW, on site now.

How we work
Our management system is certified to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. Last financial year we worked over 100,000 hours with zero regulator notices.
We are a licensed demolition contractor and licensed friable asbestos removalist, holding demolition licences in NSW and Queensland, with the insurances and prequalifications tier one builders and government expect. We hold a supplier profile with the NSW Government and work under client permit and induction systems on every site.
Behind the crews is a team of estimators, project managers, site managers and HSEQ staff, and the systems of a larger company: digital site diaries and timesheets, incident reporting and a single integrated management system across the group.

Leadership
Mateusz Jedruszek, Founder and Managing Director. Mateusz founded Perfect Contracting in Sydney in 2010 after seven years in civil excavation and structural engineering study, having arrived from Poland in 2003. He built the company from a two person crew into a national specialist contractor and now leads Perfect Group across its five divisions. Perfect Contracting is run by a management team covering operations, estimating, contracts, HSEQ, finance and people, with a state manager leading Queensland. Meet the team.
Where we are heading
SECTOR SPREAD
Transport infrastructure built this company and taught us to deliver for the biggest builders in the country under the toughest rules. We have since diversified deliberately into health, defence, commercial, industrial decommissioning and mine site demolition, so no single sector or client dominates our work.
NATIONAL REACH
From yards in Sydney and Brisbane we mobilise crews, plant and supervision anywhere in Australia, including remote mine sites and regional hospitals. Our systems travel with the crew, so a job in Western Australia runs the same way as a job in Sydney.
ONE GROUP
Perfect Contracting has over 100 people of its own and is backed by Perfect Concrete Care, Perfect Remediation, Perfect Hire and DeconCut. That means concrete cutting, wire sawing, remediation, plant and labour come from inside the group, with one point of contact and one safety system.
Our fleet
We run our own fleet of machines, from 0.8t excavators up to our Volvo EC480 high reach, which weighs around 75 tonnes once it is built up to high reach spec.
Alongside it we run Brokk demolition robots for confined and high risk work, plus hook trucks and skips, tippers, EWPs, forklifts and the attachments to match.
Owning our plant means we control the programme rather than waiting on hire companies.
