Safety Personnel - Perfect Contracting

On a Tier 1 demolition or civil project, safety is not one person's job. It is a structure, and it has to work when the programme is under pressure, which is exactly when it usually stops working elsewhere.

Every site has a supervisor who owns safety on that site. On asbestos removal we have licensed asbestos supervisors, and on high risk activities the people holding the relevant tickets are the people doing the work, not somebody who holds a ticket sitting in an office.

Perfect's Safety Personnel

Above the sites, our safety personnel sit outside the production line. They audit, they investigate, and they report independently. A safety adviser who reports to the person chasing the programme is not a safety adviser.

The authority to stop work

Roxana Roszkowska

It goes all the way down, not just to the supervisor

Anybody on a Perfect Contracting site can stop work. A first week labourer can stop a job, and the supervisor's job is to thank them and then look at it. We are aware that plenty of companies say this and fewer mean it. The test is what happens afterwards, and on our sites nobody has been made to feel foolish for stopping a job.

Working to your project safety requirements

On principal contractor projects we run our own systems. On subcontract work we integrate into the head contractor's, including their inductions, permits, HSE reporting and incident procedures. If your project has specific requirements, send them at tender stage and we will tell you plainly how we will meet them rather than agreeing and working it out later.
