- General workers, no experience needed
- Grafton and the Clarence Valley
- Running now, 12 months of work
- AU work rights required
We are hiring general workers in Grafton. Perfect Contracting is running a project in Grafton and the Clarence Valley and it runs for the next 12 months and we want local people on it. You do not need demolition experience or a trade. You need to turn up, work hard and want to learn.
We put you through the tickets you need, starting with the White Card if you do not have one, and we train you on site alongside our own crew. Good people who want to keep going with us after this job can. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
The job is real and it is already going. We started in September 2026 on the demolition, licensed asbestos removal and early works for a hospital redevelopment in Grafton, and we will be on that site for the next 12 months. Have a look at the Grafton hospital project page for photos of the crew and the work from the first weeks on site. That is the job you would be walking onto.
Fill in the form below and someone will ring you back within one business day. It takes about two minutes. The more you tell us about your tickets, the faster we can put you on a job.

What the work is
- General site labouring: moving materials, keeping the site clean and safe, setting up hoardings and fencing.
- Helping the demolition and asbestos crews with the work that does not need a ticket, and learning the work that does.
- Spotting for machines and trucks, and traffic control if you hold or get the ticket.
- Dust suppression, waste sorting for recycling and loading out.
- Working locally in Grafton and the Clarence Valley, with the option of travelling to our other jobs later if you want more hours.
The job you would be on
A staged demolition and asbestos removal programme on a live hospital campus in Grafton: whole buildings coming down, friable and bonded asbestos removed under our own supervisors, early works and a new car park, all while the hospital keeps running around us. The crew is based in Grafton for the duration. The project page is a running record of the job and gets updated as the buildings come down, so you can see exactly what the work looks like before you apply.
Tickets and experience we look for
Tell us what you actually hold. Missing one or two is not a problem.
- No tickets needed to apply. We organise and pay for the White Card and the tickets the job needs.
- If you already hold Working at Heights, EWP, skid steer, forklift, traffic control or an asbestos ticket, tell us, it moves you up the list and up the pay range.
- Fit for physical outdoor work and reliable to an early start.
- A driver licence and a way to get to site.
- Living in Grafton or nearby: Maclean, Yamba, Casino and Coffs Harbour. Locals first.
What it pays
Pay depends on experience and tickets. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it. People tend to stay with us once they start: the crew is energetic, dedicated and good to work alongside, and we back them.
Other names for this job
Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called general worker Grafton, labourer Grafton, construction labourer Grafton, demolition labourer Northern Rivers, site labourer Grafton, general hand Grafton or entry level construction job Grafton, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you can do on the tools, not on the title.
What we are like to work for
We are a young business and we are growing. That is the honest pitch. It means the structure is not set in concrete, there is room to move up if you are any good, and the person who decides is not six layers away from site. We buy decent gear, we back people who bring a better way of doing something, and safety is not a poster in the lunch room. On Tier 1 jobs it is the thing that keeps you working.
Work rights
You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas and we do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us.
What happens after you apply
- You get an email straight away confirming we have your application.
- Someone rings you within one business day, on the mobile number you give us.
- If you did not attach a CV, reply to that confirmation email with it. It is the fastest way to get in front of us.
- We keep your details on file. Even if there is nothing today, we come back to people when the right job lands.
