Dubbo is the service centre for the western half of NSW. Anything big that needs demolishing between Orange and the South Australian border tends to be managed from here: hospital redevelopments, grain and agricultural plant, council buildings, and the emergency jobs that follow a fire or a structural failure. The town has a few licensed local operators, but the large jobs of the last decade have been done by contractors travelling in, because that is where the unrestricted licences, the Class A asbestos crews and the heavy plant live.
This is a guide to the demolition companies that have done big work in Dubbo and western NSW, and to the licensed locals. It is for builders, Health Infrastructure teams, Dubbo Regional Council, agribusinesses and asset owners asked to find the biggest demolition companies in Dubbo and get prices. Perfect Contracting wrote the guide and is on it, listed first and limited to facts like every other entry. The remaining companies appear alphabetically, described from their own websites or public reporting as at October 2026. Check licences on the SafeWork NSW register before engaging anyone, us included.
The biggest demolition contractors working in Dubbo and western NSW
Perfect Contracting
Perfect Contracting was founded in Sydney in 2010 and belongs to Perfect Group with Perfect Concrete Care, Perfect Remediation, Perfect Strip Out, Perfect Hire and DeconCut. Its regional NSW record includes the Bathurst Hospital redevelopment, where it has crews based now, demolition in Broken Hill, decommissioning of core sample libraries for the NSW Government and the Manildra flour mill.
Licences: SafeWork NSW demolition licence AD211896 and Friable Asbestos Removal Licence AD212957, covering Class A and Class B work. Certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 under a single integrated management system. Over 100,000 hours worked across the group last financial year, with no notice from any regulator.
The company owns a Volvo EC480 high reach excavator, built up to about 75 tonnes, and Brokk remote controlled demolition machines, with its own operators, so a Dubbo job is not waiting on a hire company's calendar. Its crews are set up to deploy to regional and remote sites for emergency make-safe, hazardous materials removal and industrial demolition, and the Bathurst base cuts the mobilisation to Dubbo to a few hours. Delta Group
Delta Group was established in 1988, is headquartered in Port Melbourne and reports more than 1,400 personnel and more than 6,000 plant assets nationally, including demolition robots. Its published Dubbo work is the emergency response to the Dubbo crane collapse, where its NSW division carried out the make-safe and dismantling. Source: Delta Group, Dubbo crane collapse.
DEMEX
DEMEX has operated since 1993 and is based at Yatala in Queensland, with NSW unrestricted demolition licence AD213349 and asbestos licences in several states. In Dubbo it delivered demolition packages on Stages 3 and 4 of the Dubbo Base Hospital redevelopment, and in the wider Central West it was the demolition contractor on the former Orange Base Hospital and the Lithgow Small Arms Factory. It publishes a high reach excavator fleet and has used a Brokk 200 on industrial work. Source: DEMEX, Dubbo Base Hospital.
MBC Asbestos and Demolition
MBC Asbestos and Demolition is based at Camp Road, Dubbo, with a second base in Newcastle and more than 35 years in the trade. It publishes a Class A friable asbestos licence and a demolition licence, and works on naturally occurring asbestos for road and rail projects and on plant decontamination across coastal, regional and remote NSW. Plant, staff numbers and named projects are not published. Source: MBC Asbestos and Demolition. Regional Demolition
Regional Demolition is a Dubbo company established in 2014. Its directory listing publishes a restricted demolition licence (AD212057) and a Class B asbestos licence (AD211887), a staff band of one to ten and a service area of western NSW. It has no website and publishes no plant or projects. Source: Yellow Pages listing.

What to check before you engage a demolition contractor in Dubbo
Owned high reach and remote controlled plant
Grain silos, hospital blocks and multi storey commercial buildings need a high reach excavator, and asbestos areas and plant rooms need remote controlled machines. Of the companies above, Perfect Contracting, Delta Group and DEMEX publish owning that plant; the Dubbo based operators do not. Ask for the machine list with reach and weight, who operates it, and how it will get to Dubbo.
Restricted or unrestricted demolition licence
SafeWork NSW issues restricted and unrestricted demolition licences, and a restricted licence limits the height and type of structure a contractor can take down. Anything over 15 metres, pre or post tensioned, or a chemical installation needs the right class. Ask for the number, check it on the public register, and confirm it belongs to the contracting entity.
Class A asbestos capability
Dubbo's older hospital buildings, schools, silos and agricultural plant carry asbestos, some of it friable. Class B covers bonded sheet only. Perfect Contracting and MBC publish Class A; Regional Demolition publishes Class B. Ask the others.
Emergency response time
Fire, storm and structural failures in western NSW need a make-safe crew fast and heavy plant soon after. Ask what the contractor can have in Dubbo within 24 hours and where it comes from. A crew already in the Central West is hours away; one in Sydney or Brisbane is a day.
Enough people for the program
The local demolition workforce in Dubbo is small. Ask how many people will be on your site in the first week and where they will be housed. A contractor that moves crews between regional sites keeps the program when local labour runs out.
Certification, waste and reporting
Ask for ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 certificates with expiry dates and the number of regulator notices in the last financial year. Ask how waste will be classified and where asbestos and contaminated material will go, since the nearest licensed facility can be a long way from site.

Frequently asked questions
Who are the biggest demolition companies in Dubbo?
The contractors with large completed work in Dubbo and western NSW are Perfect Contracting, Delta Group and DEMEX, all based outside the town. The licensed Dubbo based operators are MBC Asbestos and Demolition and Regional Demolition. Compare them on licence class, owned plant and comparable jobs.
Can a Dubbo based contractor demolish a grain silo or a hospital block?
Only with the right licence class and a high reach excavator. None of the Dubbo based operators above publishes owning one, so check what they would hire and from where.
Do I need a licensed demolition contractor in Dubbo?
Yes, for any structure over 15 metres and for several other categories set by SafeWork NSW. Asbestos removal needs its own licence, Class B for bonded material and Class A for friable.
How much does it cost to bring a demolition crew to Dubbo?
Mobilisation is shown as a line in the quote and is usually a small share of a commercial job. A contractor already working in the Central West can share crews and plant between sites and bring that line down.
