Perfect Contracting turned 16 in September. Mateusz Jędruszek started the business in September 2010, taking on strip out work around Sydney.
Sixteen years later it's the flagship of Perfect Group, with four divisions and offices in Sydney and Brisbane. Here's how a Sydney demolition company got to this point, and what hasn't changed along the way.
From strip outs to Tier 1 infrastructure

The first jobs were strip outs. Over time the scope grew into heavy structural demolition, civil excavation, hazmat and asbestos removal, decommissioning and early works.
Today Perfect Contracting works for Tier 1 principal contractors, government agencies and defence. Our project history includes Sydney Metro, WestConnex and TfNSW corridor works, defence sites across Greater Sydney, hospital and school campuses, and heritage listed buildings.
That growth came one job at a time. Each project added to the team's experience on complex, high risk sites, and each client relationship was built on delivering what we said we would.
Growing into Perfect Group

As the work broadened, specialist divisions were set up so clients could get focused expertise backed by the same systems. Perfect Group now has four active divisions.
Perfect Contracting delivers heavy demolition, civil excavation, hazmat removal, decommissioning and early works. Perfect Concrete Care handles concrete cutting, coring, grinding, scanning and polishing. Perfect Remediation & Refurbishment looks after structural concrete repair, steel remediation, protective coatings and heritage restoration. Perfect Strip Out & Demolition covers light demolition, strip outs and rubbish removal.
Every division runs on the same ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified systems for quality, environment and safety. Perfect Group is also Great Place to Work certified.
Expanding into Queensland
Opening an office at Slacks Creek in Brisbane took the business across the border. Queensland is now an active market for Perfect Contracting, covering Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Logan rail corridor and regional projects.
The Sydney head office in Marrickville and the Brisbane office let us mobilise across NSW and Queensland, and nationally for select major projects.
What's stayed the same

Plenty has changed in 16 years. The way we approach a job hasn't.
Safety is still the first priority on every site. Methodology is engineered before work starts, so the plan is clear before the first machine arrives. And the business still runs on its reputation, which is earned one project at a time.
The fleet has grown to include high-reach excavators and Brokk robotic demolition machines, but the care that goes into running and maintaining it hasn't changed.
Recognition this year
2026 has been a strong year for recognition. In May, Perfect Contracting received Silver in the Construction category at the Noble Awards, along with an Honourable Mention for Outstanding Achievement in Real Estate and Construction. In August, we won Gold in two categories at the TITAN Business Awards: Product & Services (Construction) and Company & Organisation (Construction).
Mateusz also joined the panel at the QMCA Industry Breakfast in Brisbane to talk about resource recovery in demolition.
This year's awards build on earlier recognition, including a place on the 2024 World Demolition Awards shortlist for Safety and Training, and the 2018 NSW Business Awards, where Perfect Contracting was the regional winner for Outstanding Employer of Choice.
Thank you to our people and clients

None of this happens without the team. Thank you to everyone across Perfect Group, past and present, and to the clients and partners who have trusted us with their projects over the past 16 years.
Looking ahead
Our mission is to engineer the future by creating space for the next generation. Over the next few years, that means continuing to grow in Queensland and building each division's capability, while keeping the standards that got us here.
