Biggest Demolition Companies in Brisbane for Major Projects (2026)

Continuous Improvement and Transparency

Most of what Google returns for demolition companies in Brisbane is house demolition: a Queenslander on stumps, a block in the suburbs, done in a week. That is not the same trade as taking down a CBD tower next to a live rail corridor, cutting a hospital wing out of an operating campus, or decommissioning a processing plant. This guide is for people with the second kind of job: builders, developers, government agencies and asset owners with commercial, industrial or infrastructure demolition in Brisbane and South East Queensland.

If your boss has told you to find the biggest demolition companies in Brisbane and get prices from four of them, start here. Perfect Contracting wrote this guide and is on it. We have put ourselves first and kept every entry to facts you can check. The other contractors are in alphabetical order, each described from its own website or public reporting as at October 2026. Confirm licences and insurances with Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and the insurer before you engage anyone, us included.

The biggest commercial demolition contractors working in Brisbane

Perfect Contracting

Perfect Contracting was founded in Sydney in 2010 and has run a Queensland office at Slacks Creek, south of Brisbane, since expanding north. It is part of Perfect Group, with Perfect Concrete Care, Perfect Remediation, Perfect Strip Out, Perfect Hire and DeconCut. The Queensland business covers structural and high reach demolition, Class A and Class B asbestos removal, decommissioning, early works and civil, and principal contractor packages.

Licences and systems: Queensland demolition licence 2329458 issued by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, and SafeWork NSW Friable Asbestos Removal Licence AD212957, which WHSQ recognises as equivalent for licensed asbestos removal in Queensland and which covers both friable and bonded material. Quality, environment and safety run under one integrated management system certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. In the last financial year the group worked more than 100,000 hours on site and received no notices from any regulator.

Perfect Contracting owns its specialist plant rather than hiring it in: a Volvo EC480 high reach excavator, built up to about 75 tonnes, and Brokk remote controlled demolition machines, all run by its own operators. In Brisbane that fleet did the demolition, precision cutting and structural modification at Roma Street Station for Cross River Rail, with Brokk machines breaking out basement walls and columns under a live station. Crews from the Sydney and Brisbane offices deploy together to regional Queensland for emergency make-safe, hazardous materials and industrial jobs that one office could not resource alone. Abyss Demolition

Abyss Demolition was founded in 2002 and has its head office at Loganholme, with depots at Yatala and Garbutt in Townsville. It publishes a Queensland Class A asbestos removal licence (2302889) and Queensland demolition licence (2314642), holds NSW unrestricted demolition, and is certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Recent South East Queensland work includes Kenmore Village Shopping Centre, the Logan Water Tower and the Merrimac sewage treatment plant, with a high reach excavator used on larger structures. It also does residential work. Source: Abyss Demolition.

DECC

DECC, short for Demolition, Environmental, Civil, Contractors, was founded in 2007 and runs offices in Brisbane (Hillcrest), Sydney and Canberra. It holds unrestricted demolition, friable asbestos removal and underpinning licences in NSW, the ACT and Queensland and is certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Its Brisbane record includes the Brisbane Law Courts at 300 George Street, the Cross River Rail Woolloongabba demolition package and the Albert Street demolition package. Source: DECC.

Delta Group

Delta Group was established in Victoria in 1988 and is headquartered in Port Melbourne, with a Queensland office at Hamilton. Its 2026-27 corporate overview reports more than 1,400 personnel, more than 740 excavators including machines over 100 tonnes, and demolition robots in its fleet. Brisbane projects include Queen's Wharf retention and excavation, Cross River Rail Roma Street and the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program. Source: Delta Group corporate overview.

DEMEX

DEMEX has operated since 1993 and is based at Yatala between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. It publishes a Queensland demolition licence (2321795) and Queensland Class A asbestos licence (2321934), plus NSW unrestricted demolition and asbestos licences in several other states. Its fleet includes high reach excavators and it has used a Brokk 200 demolition robot on industrial work. Brisbane projects include a Mary Street CBD building, the Lytton Road cold store at East Brisbane, Hamilton Northshore sheds and Ozcare New Farm. Source: DEMEX.

Rosenlund

Rosenlund is a Brisbane company headquartered at Banyo with more than 50 years of continuous operation. It is certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 and publishes the largest high reach fleet in Queensland, with its high reach page listing machines from 17 metres up to a 67 metre ultra high reach excavator. Brisbane projects include Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, Yeronga TAFE, 360-380 Queen Street and the GrainCorp refinery at Murarrie. Source: Rosenlund high reach.

What to check before you engage a demolition contractor in Brisbane

A high reach excavator and remote controlled machines they own

A contractor pricing a major Brisbane job should own a high reach excavator and remote controlled demolition machines, with operators on the payroll. Only a handful of companies on this list publish that they own either. Plenty of contractors who call themselves commercial hire them in when a job needs one, which means the machine arrives when the hire company has one free, with an operator who has never seen your site. Ask for the list of machines, their reach and weight, and who runs them.

A Queensland demolition licence and a Class A asbestos licence

In Queensland, demolition of load bearing structures six metres or more needs a licence from Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and five days written notice before work starts. Asbestos is separate: Class B covers bonded material only, Class A covers friable material and is what you need for pipe lagging, sprayed insulation or damaged sheeting in a pre 1990 commercial building. Ask for the licence numbers and check them. A contractor holding both can run hazmat and demolition as one program. For a shortlist of specialist friable asbestos and hazmat contractors, see the biggest asbestos removal companies in Brisbane and Queensland and the national guide.

A certified safety and environmental system

Tier 1 builders and Queensland Government clients expect ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 from an accredited certifier. Ask for the certificates with expiry dates, and ask how many notices WHSQ or the Department of Environment issued to them in the last financial year.

Waste tracking, ERA approvals and recycling

Concrete, brick and steel from a Brisbane commercial demolition are mostly recyclable. Contaminated material is not, and regulated waste in Queensland has to be tracked and disposed of at an approved facility. Ask how waste will be classified, where it goes and what reporting you will receive.

Enough people to hold the program

A big job is a big crew. Ask how many people the contractor employs directly, how many will be on your site, and what happens if another job runs late. A company that can bring crews up from another state keeps the program when a local workforce is stretched.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the biggest demolition companies in Brisbane?

For commercial, industrial and infrastructure work the established names are Perfect Contracting, Abyss Demolition, DECC, Delta Group, DEMEX and Rosenlund. Judge them on the licences they hold, the plant they own and their record on jobs like yours, not on size alone.

Do I need a licensed demolition contractor in Queensland?

Yes, for demolition of load bearing structures six metres or more and for several other categories under the Queensland Work Health and Safety Regulation. Asbestos removal needs its own licence: Class B for bonded material, Class A for friable.

Which Brisbane demolition companies own a high reach excavator or a Brokk?

From their own websites: Perfect Contracting (Volvo EC480 high reach and Brokk robots), Rosenlund (high reach fleet to 67 metres), DEMEX (high reach fleet and a Brokk 200) and Delta Group (large excavators and demolition robots). Abyss publishes high reach use on specific projects. Ask each one what they own and what they hire.

How long does commercial demolition take in Brisbane?

It depends on the hazardous materials survey, the structure, the neighbours and the waste volume. A mid sized commercial building usually runs from a few weeks to a few months once asbestos removal is done. Ask for a program with the hazmat stage shown separately.
