High school building demolished in Kellyville

Perfect Contracting was contracted by Online Civil to carry out the demolishing of the school building, located at 8 Diana Ave, Kellyville.

Main demolition works were to be completed during school shut down leading into Christmas so in two weeks only we had to complete majority of the demolition works. Removing 6000m2 of school buildings, each of the buildings were done over the weekend where the school was live and operating. Internal stripout of all the joinery and loose items, all material was recycled for reuse with a 95% target achieved by Perfect. Material was sorted on site and send to the tipping facilities.

We had to demolish, excavate and dispose of the existing brick building, allowing to remove the existing ground floor slab, footings up to 600mm deep. Demolish and dispose of the metal awning structure and bitumen floor under it, footpaths, concrete stirs and ramps and various miscellaneous items. Final cut and grade of the site to the required levels. Strip out of top soil and garden vegetation, relocation of trees for landscaping, removal of retaining walls to allow for landscaping works and new service trenches for purposed substation installation.

Mechanical Demolition of the single storey brick buildings using 24T x 2, 30T, 15T excavators. This was carried out under a missing system setup by Perfect to ensure no dust can affect the nearby residents or school facilities.

There was hazardous waste to remove, asbestos eaves and all the existing loose furniture inside the building.

Works carried out throughout the duration of 4 weeks, we had a crew of 5 operators working for all asbestos removal works as well as 5 skilled labours and supervisor for all demolition works. All works were completed in due timing.
