Renewable Energy Civil Works and Decommissioning
Wind and solar assets built, repowered and, at end of life, taken away properly: foundations, panels, towers and cabling, with the recycling numbers your stakeholders now demand.
- ✓Solar farm decommissioning and panel recycling
- ✓Wind turbine and foundation demolition
- ✓Civil and enabling works for new renewables projects
- ✓Repowering support: old assets out, site ready for new
- ✓Steel, aluminium and copper recovery credited

The first generation of renewables is reaching end of life
Australia’s early wind and solar farms are hitting repowering age, and the industry is discovering that decommissioning was a paragraph in the development approval rather than a plan. Taking a renewables site apart properly means dealing with turbine foundations the size of house slabs, thousands of panels that should not go to landfill, and kilometres of buried cable, all on remote land that must go back to the landholder in the condition the agreement promised.
We bring the same discipline to building them: access roads, hardstands, foundations and trenching for new projects, delivered by crews already used to working on remote easements and farmland.
Decommissioning scope
- Solar panel removal, palletising and routing to recyclers
- Mounting structure, tracker and frame recovery, steel and aluminium credited
- Inverter station and substation equipment removal
- Wind turbine dismantling support and blade disposal strategy
- Turbine foundation demolition, full removal or cut-down to agreement
- Underground cable recovery and copper credit
- Access track removal and land reinstatement
Repowering, not just removal
Most projects are not dying, they are upgrading. Repowering means old assets out and new civil works in on the same site, often while part of the farm keeps generating. One contractor across both halves keeps the program and the interfaces sane.
The reporting your investors want
Renewables owners answer to funds with sustainability mandates. Our closeout pack quantifies it: tonnes recycled by stream, panels diverted from landfill, and disposal dockets for the fraction that could not be recovered. Real numbers, not a green paragraph.
Decommissioning provision to price? We prepare decommissioning cost studies from your asset registers for financial provisioning, built the way we would actually price the job.
Where we work
Sydney head office, Brisbane yard, crews Australia wide. Infrastructure and government work runs interstate on staged programs with cleared, inducted personnel.
Questions we get asked
Can solar panels really be recycled?
Increasingly yes: glass, aluminium and silver streams through dedicated recyclers. Capacity varies by state, so we lock the recycling route during planning, not after the panels are stacked.
Do turbine foundations have to come out completely?
Depends on the landholder agreement and approval conditions, full removal or cut-down below plough depth. We price both so the decision is commercial, not forced.
Can you work while the farm generates?
Yes, staged decommissioning and repowering around live circuits is normal, under the operator’s isolation and access regimes.
Is the scrap worth anything on these sites?
Genuinely yes: tower steel, mounting aluminium and cable copper add up fast, and the credit is shown line by line on the price.
Wind or solar site to build, repower or retire?
Send the site details and asset list. You will get a program, a price and honest recycling numbers.
