Friable is a different game to bonded sheeting
Bonded asbestos sheeting, handled properly, is routine. Friable material, lagging, limpet, loose fill, anything that crumbles, releases fibres at the slightest disturbance and demands a completely different level of control: full enclosures, negative air, airlocks, decontamination units and independent monitoring throughout.
Only a small pool of contractors hold the Class A licence, which is why we travel for this work. If your project is regional and the local advice is to ship in a metro contractor, that is normal, and we are usually the ones being shipped.

- Pipe and boiler lagging in plants, hospitals and older commercial buildings

How the removal runs
Enclosure built and smoke tested, negative air units running continuously, three stage decontamination, and a licensed assessor doing air monitoring the whole time. Clearance is issued by the independent assessor, not by us, which is how it should be.
Notifications to the regulator, waste tracking to a licensed facility and a documentation pack your principal or asset owner can audit.
After fire
Fire turns bonded material friable and spreads it. We respond quickly, stabilise the site, and run the assessment and removal so demolition or reinstatement can proceed. Insurers see our documentation standard regularly.
Found lagging or limpet? Do not let anyone disturb it while you organise quotes. The difference between a controlled removal and a contaminated building is one enthusiastic labourer with a scraper.

Questions we get asked
What makes something Class A?
Friability. If the material crumbles or can be reduced to powder by hand, it needs a Class A licence to remove. Bonded sheeting in good condition is Class B.
Who signs the clearance?
An independent licensed asbestos assessor, not us. They monitor the air during the work and inspect before the enclosure comes down.
Will you travel for one job?
For friable work, yes, and we often do. The licence pool is small enough that travel is normal in this class.
Can the building stay partly occupied?
Often, with the enclosure isolating the work zone and air monitoring proving the rest of the building is clean. The assessor data is what makes that defensible.
