Meta Description: Perfect Contracting proudly supported demolition works for the Wilson family rebuild, led by the Forever Giving Foundation.
A Project Rooted in Community, Compassion and Safety
In Greater Western Sydney, a devastating house fire left a family of 11 without a home — and without insurance. What followed was a powerful display of community spirit, generosity, and technical collaboration.
Perfect Contracting was honoured to play a small but important role in this initiative, carrying out the demolition works that made way for a new beginning.
This project was led and coordinated by Pat Sergi, founder of the Forever Giving Foundation, whose mission to help families in crisis brought together dozens of contributors from across New South Wales.
The Wilson Family’s Story
The Wilsons — parents Warren and Amelia and their nine children — lost their home in a sudden blaze caused by a faulty heater. Thankfully, they escaped unharmed. But with no active insurance policy and mounting financial pressure, the family was left with no way to rebuild.
For more than 18 months, they lived in a small rental home, working tirelessly to stay afloat. Warren, a forklift operator, worked 12-hour shifts, six days a week to support his family while covering rent, mortgage repayments and basic living costs.
What could have been a story of permanent loss became a story of hope — thanks to the actions of Pat Sergi and a wide network of supporters.
Perfect Contracting’s Involvement: Safe, Swift Demolition
When approached to assist with the early stages of the rebuild, Perfect Contracting committed to carrying out all demolition works on the site — safely, efficiently and free of charge.
Our crew undertook the clearance of the fire-damaged structure as part of a carefully coordinated effort to make the site safe and ready for construction. It was a task we were proud to deliver — aligned with our core values of Safety, Care, and Positivity.
This project exemplifies the importance of technical execution done with compassion — where the aim is not just to remove debris, but to help clear the path for something better.
A Collaborative Rebuild Led by the Forever Giving Foundation
The success of the Wilson family rebuild was made possible by a wide network of trades, suppliers and volunteers, all brought together by the Forever Giving Foundation.
Key contributors included:
Builder: Sam Maltese and his team
Architect: Designcorp Architects
Site and waste services: AMA Plant Hire, Skips R Us, Veolia, Met-Recycling
Materials and labour: Dulux, Advance Readymix, TLE Electricals, Polytec, B.K. Kitchen, and many more
Donations: Everything from plumbing and pest control to air conditioning and fencing was generously provided
Surprise gift: The family also received a brand-new car
This was a true community effort — made with care, driven by purpose, and executed with technical expertise at every stage.
Social Responsibility in Action
At Perfect Contracting, we believe that real leadership in construction and demolition goes beyond commercial delivery. It includes a responsibility to give back, show up for our communities, and use our capabilities to create meaningful impact.
This project didn’t just involve demolishing a damaged structure — it meant supporting a larger mission to restore a family’s dignity, stability, and future.
We are proud to have stood alongside so many generous individuals and organisations, and we thank the Forever Giving Foundation for including us in such an important initiative.
