The Perfect Contracting team was recently tasked with removing the pedestrian stairs at Canterbury Station for our client Haslin.
The project was complex and required the use of a 400-tonne mobile crane. The stairs, which were no longer needed due to renovations at the station, had to be removed in a manner that would minimize disruption to the daily operations of the station and ensure the safety of all involved.
The first step of the project was to secure all necessary permits and approvals from local authorities. Our team worked closely with the client and relevant stakeholders to ensure that all requirements were met and that the project could proceed smoothly.
Once all preparations were complete, the crane was carefully positioned on site, and the removal process began. The stairs were disconnected from the existing structure and then lifted clear of the building using the crane. The stairs were then transported off-site for disposal.
Throughout the project, the Perfect Contracting team closely monitored the safety of all personnel on-site, as well as the safety of passengers at the station. The team also maintained clear communication with the client to keep them informed of progress and to ensure that the project was completed to their satisfaction.
The removal of the pedestrian stairs was successfully completed on time and within budget. The project was carried out with the utmost care and professionalism, and the end result was a clean and unobstructed space that could be used for other purposes.
