Concrete Penetrations – Chester Hill

Concrete Penetrations – Chester Hill

Perfect Contracting have recently finished concrete penetrations for our client AJW Interiors at Chester Hill. This work involved the concrete penetrations of concrete floor along with matching penetrations on the 1st floor slab to allow for a new lift and lift pit installation. The client requested dust control for this project so firstly our team members setup our Zip Walls around the site to ensure dust was contained. We also used our Hilti VC-40 Dry / Wet Vac’s to extract and clean up dust and rubble as we carried out the work. The floor slab was over 150mm thick so required our team members to use out Husqvarna K6500 High Frequency Ring Saw as this would be only hand demolition saw that could cut down to the depth required. As there was no water supply at the site our team members used our portable Makinex Hose2U waster pumps, these connect directly to the Ring Saw. This water supply keeps the diamonds cool on the blade allowing for a cleaner and more efficient cut. Once all cuts had been made to the slab our team members then used out Hilti TE 1000 Jackhammers to break up all the excess concrete and penetrate through the slab, this would allow our client to install the lift pit shaft. When all the concrete was broken up our team members then loaded out all waste and rubble to our Isuzu Tipper truck to be removed for recycling. They then made one last tidy up using our Hilti VC-40 Dry Vac’s to ensure the area was left as clean as possible before finishing up.

Stripout – TK Maxx, Castle Hill

Our team members have recently finished demolition and strip out works for our client Unita at TK Maxx in Castle Hill. These works involved the strip out of 150m2 space within the TK Maxx store. The scope of these works involved vinyl tile removal, strip out of shelving units and removal of all rubbish and waste. For the vinyl tile removal our team members used our Hilti TE 1000 and Hilti TE 1500 Jackhammers with the Tile Smasher attachment. This allows us to strip the vinyl tiles and also remove the epoxy glue between the tiles and the concrete slab. These works also included the removal of the shop front while retaining glass panels adjacent to the shop front. Our team members carefully removed the shop fittings and removed them from site. Our team members carried out all works after hours and used our Zip Walls to control dust created while the tiles were being stripped. This would ensure the dust created would not affect the rest of the store, as the store would be open to the public during the day. All waste and rubbish was firstly separated and sorted in our Tub Bins. It was all then loaded into our Hook Trucks and removed from site for recycling.

Structural Demolition – Manly Wharf

Structural Demolition – Manly Wharf

Perfect Contracting have just finished major structural demolition works for our client Rewards Hotel Projects at Manly Wharf. These works involved the roof removal, penetrations, and shop strip outs. The first stage of these works involved the detailed structural demolition of a corrugated steel roof and removing the trusses supporting it. All corrugated steel sheets were manually dismantled and neatly stacked. Once all materials were dismantled and neatly stacked and strapped we used a 20 Tonne Mobile crane to lift a Crawler Crane onto the roof. This crawler crane was then used to Crane down all the materials into our Hook Trucks for removal. Another stage of the works was to perform concrete penetrations to allow for the installation of a new stairwell and new lifts. These works involved a lot of Oxy cutting to remove steel beams throughout the structure. A separate stage of these works involved the strip out of a fish shop unit on the ground level. This involved a back to base strip out of the shop unit including wall and floor tiles removal and removal of all units and services. Result: Our client Rewards Hotel Projects was very pleased with the quality of works carried out throughout the project.

Roof Removal – Caringbah Sports Club

Perfect Contracting just completed roof removal works for our client New England Constructions at the Caringbah Sports Club. These works were part of the overall detailed and structural demolition works we are carrying out for our client at the Caringbah Sports Club. The full scope of works for this project involved the removal of existing steel trusses from the roof of the sports club. Our EWP ticketed team members started by manually removal all light material from the roof using scissor lifts. Once all light material was removed then the next stage was to remove the steel trusses from the structure. To remove these steel trusses safely and efficiently we decided the best mythology would be to use a 55 tonne mobile crane, as these trusses were very heavy. This crane allowed us to securely remove the trusses and lower them to ground level. From here we cut the trusses into smaller pieces using our Oxy Kit and craned them down straight into our Hook Trucks. All these works were carried out during normal business hours and there was traffic control supplied by the client and permissions of the council for the crane to operate off the road. Being committed to reaching our goal of recycling over 50% of waste and rubble removed from sites we managed to recycle almost every part of roof structure. Our team members carefully separated all steel and wood from the structure and these were all recycled. Almost every part of this roof structure was successfully recycled. Result: Our client New England Constructions was very happy with the works carried out for the roof removal.

Brokk Demolition Robot – Wilmot St, Syndey

Brokk Demolition Robot – Wilmot St, Syndey

Brokk Demolition Robot at Wilmot Street

Perfect Contracting completed works for our client Built. at the Wilmot Street. Part of the works we are carrying out for client requires the use of the Brokk 90 Demolition robot with crusher attachment. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMX6ItgQYSc[/embed] This project requires penetrations on three levels on the building. As part of stage one of the works our team members started off the night by installing safety barriers on both the 15th and 16th floors. This was to ensure the safety of everyone on site throughout the duration of the works. They then installed our Zip-walls to ensure dust and debris could be controlled during the demolition works. Due to noise restrictions all work with the Brokk was carried out after hours. One of the challenges of this project was to get the Brokk up the elevator to the 15th floor. Firstly 3 phase power had to be established at the loading dock to power the Brokk to reach the elevator. Then once up on the 15th floor 3 phase power was ran to the elevator to remove the Brokk. Before the Brokk 90 could start using the crusher to eat away at the slab there had to be penetrations performed, our team members from our concrete care division Perfect Concrete Care used Hilti Cordless Hammer drill to drill into the slab and install 2mm dyna bolts and anchor points, they then setup our block and tackle. Once these were in place and secure they proceeded to cut out a small section of the slab with our Husqvarna Ring Saw, this was then lowered down to the 15th floor. This penetration allowed the Brokk 90 to move in and begin crushing the slab from underneath. The floor on the 15th was covered with wooden hoardings to ensure the concrete falling would not damage the floor surface. All waste and rubble was loaded into our Tub bins so it could be easily loaded out into our 10m3 Skip Bins at the loading dock. Result: Our client Built is delighted with the quality of works carried out so far.

Our client requested that all camera and sprinkler systems were left intact, as they would be used in the new installation. The ceiling stripping and small detail works is stage one of the structural demolitions we are carrying out on this site. The second stage will include the removal of the roof to crane out the escalators and prepare the site for the installation of the new escalators. Structural Demolition and strip-out in Smithfield, Sydney

Perfect Contracting just finished major structural demolition at Smithfield for Johns Lyng Group PTY Ltd. This involved the demolition, strip-out and structural make safe of a factory unit in Smithfield. Firstly our team members cordoned off the site to ensure the safety of the public throughout the project. Next the client’s engineers assessed the structure and concluded that the outer supporting walls would need to be reinforced with steel props. This would ensure the integrity of the structure was safe to complete the strip-out works. When the props were in place the client’s engineer assessed the site and signed off that the structure was now structurally sound. Once our team members had the all clear the internal strip-out works began. We used our 1.7ton Yanmar Excavator with a skilled operator to strip-out all the factory-shelving units.
