Demolition in Qantas Lounge in Sydney International Airport

Perfect Contracting have recently completed demolition and strip-out works for our client INAPHASE in the Qantas Lounge of the Sydney International Airport Terminal 1. These works included the demolition and soft strip-out of the Qantas Lounge. All work was carried out over three consecutive night shifts. The scope of works from the client was the removal of carpet tiles and under layers, removal of cladding from all columns, Jackhammering the floor tiles and wall tiles and removing all waste and rubble and performing a detailed site clean before shift end. All work was carried out with the use of our Zip Walls that keep all dust enclosed on site so we can control the dust created while Jackhammering the floor and wall tiles. Our team members also used our Hilti VC50 Dry Vac’s to ensure that site was left as clean as possible at the end of each shift. All waste and rubble was removed with our Isuzu Tipper trucks and 18m3 Skip Bins. Result: Our client INAPHASE was very happy with the outcome of the works and how efficient our team members were at carrying out the work.

Structural Demolition of Marrickville Metro, Marrickville

Perfect Contracting are currently performing structural demolition works for our client Rork Projects at the Marrickville Metro Shopping Centre, Sydney. The works involved the structural demolition of escalators. Our team members first established temporary site fencing to ensure the safety of the public during the duration of the works. They then established a safe loading dock to allow our tipper trucks access to load out the waste and rubble. Once our access and site fencing was up our team members began unloading all the equipment needed for the works. Our team members constructed our snappy scaffold and began the soft strip-out of the ceiling tiles ensuring the no services were touched. Our client requested that all camera and sprinkler systems were left intact, as they would be used in the new installation. The ceiling stripping and small detail works is stage one of the structural demolitions we are carrying out on this site. The second stage will include the removal of the roof to crane out the escalators and prepare the site for the installation of the new escalators. This will involve the removal of steel structural beams, which will need to be secured with a crane before we cut them with the oxy. All the waste and rubble was loaded into our Isuzu Tipper trucks for removal from site. Result: The client was very happy with the outcome of the works involved and how efficient and professional our team members were.

Structural Demolition of Caringbah Business & Sports Club

Perfect Contracting are currently working on a structural demolition for our client New England Constructions at the Caringbah Business and Sports Club. These works involve a detailed structural demolition of the sports club. Our team members firstly secured the site with temporary fencing to ensure the safety of the public during the duration of the works. Then they setup the loading dock where our Isuzu HR trucks could load out the skip bins this allows for a quick extraction of the waste and rubble created. Then our team members constructed the site office and established all site safety notices and our first aid kit station. Once all our team members were inducted then our site super visor began the toolbox talk about the dangers and potential hazards of this site. Our team members began oxy cutting the steel stairwell to remove it from the structure. Then a safety fence was erected using dyna bolts to bolt it to the ground. This would ensure the safety of works while on site. Next our Concrete Care division Perfect Concrete Care began penetrations on the 1st floor cutting out 2.5m x 800mm sections of the sub-floor as requested by the client. This was done using our Husqvarna Ring Saw which is capable of cutting to depths of 260mm. This allows us to cut right through the concrete slab and leave a nice clean finish. Perfect Contracting are currently performing structural demolition works for our client Horizon Habitats at Northwood, Sydney. The works included the removal of a section of the external wall of a residential house to allow for windows to be installed. Our team members first established all tools and equipment onto the site and setup the loading dock where they could load out the waste and rubble. Then our team members secured the site with temporary security fences to ensure the safety of the public during the duration of the works. Once the access and security was established our site supervisor liaised directly with the engineer from our client to establish the correct methodology for the removal of the section from the external supporting wall. Once the correct methodology was established our team members began by unloading and setting up our Acrow Props to prepare to prop the sub floor above to ensure the structure stayed intact and secure during the demolition process. When the engineer was confident there was sufficient support from the Acrow props to support the structure then our team members began by using our Husqvarna Concrete demo saw to cut the bottom of the wall. When the bottom was cut right through then they cut both sides. Our team members then began hammering the wall with our Hilti TE70’s being very careful to remove it section by section. Once we had nearly reached the top then we cut the remaining section at the top of the wall this ensured for a smooth clean finish. Result: The client was very happy with the outcome of the works involved and how efficient and professional our team members were.

Structural Demolition – Marrickville Train Station

Structural demolition of bus platform with Husqvarna DXR 310 demolition robot

Perfect Contracting recently finished structural demolition works at Marrickville Train Station for our client ARENCO, these works included the detailed structural demolition of the bus shelter beside the station using the Husqvarna DXR 310 demolition robot. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AC9AV520kTg&feature=youtu.be[/embed] Firstly our team members secured the site as all works were carried out in a live public site during the weekend so public safety was a high priority. Our team members began by establishing a perimeter around the site with our temporary site fences. Once the site was secure and safe our team members moved our Brokk Demolition robot onto site. A traffic controller provided by our client to ensure traffic was safe during the project controlled the traffic. Next our team members ran power to the site and established a small site perimeter around this detailed demolition to ensure everyone’s safety on site. Then once our Husqvarna DXR 310 demolition robot was sure that the site was safe he proceeded to demo the bus shelter from underneath. The Husqvarna DXR 310 Demolition Robot was the safest methodology to carry out these works as it could reach up under the shelter that was protruding over the sidewalk below. This made it very safe to demo the support pillars without risking anyone’s safety. Once the platform was fully demolished by the Husqvarna DXR 310 robot our team members extracted all the waste and rubble from the site with our Skip Bins and Tipper Trucks and cleaned up the area to ensure it was ready to be used by the public right away. The Result: The client was very happy with the outcome of the works.

Perfect Contracting just finished major structural demolition at Smithfield for Johns Lyng Group PTY Ltd. This involved the demolition, strip-out and structural make safe of a factory unit in Smithfield. Firstly our team members cordoned off the site to ensure the safety of the public throughout the project. Once all roofing sheets were removed from site, we then began to remove the structural steel girders as the client for this particular project requested it. A mobile crane was used to take the supporting weight off the girders.
